The group's principal activities are to develop and manufacture batteries, capacitors, feedthroughs, enclosures and other components used in implantable medical devices. The group operates in two segments: medical technology and commercial power sources. The medical technology segment designs and manufactures batteries, capacitors, filtered feedthroughs, engineered components and enclosures used in implantable medical devices. The commercial power sources division designs and manufactures high performance batteries and battery packs for use in oil and gas exploration, oceanographic equipment and aerospace. The group's customers include Guidant, St. Jude Medical, Medtronic, Biotronik, Cyberonics and Ela/Sorin. During Mar-2004, the group acquired Nanogram Devices Corporation.
