It operates through two reportable segments, electric utility and other. Electric utility consists of integrated electric utility operations, including the generation, transmission and distribution of power to retail customers in Kansas and to wholesale customers as well as energy marketing activities. Other includes the groups former ownership interests in oneok, protection one and protection one Europe and other investments. Other segment will be immaterial in future periods.on 17-Feb-2004, the group discontinued its operations in protection one.
