The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and distribute high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrument systems and associated service and support products, including chromatography columns and other consumable products. The group also develops and supplies software based products which interface with the group's instruments and are typically purchased by customers as part of the instrument system. The products of the group are used by pharmaceutical, life science, biochemical, industrial, academic and government customers working in research and development, quality assurance and other laboratory applications. In 2003, the group acquired creon lab control ag, worldwide rheology business of rheometrics, remaining 30% of korean distributor businesses. It acquired nugenesis technologies corporation during Feb 2004.
