The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and sale firearms and precision investment castings. The group operates through two segments: firearms and investment castings. The firearms division manufactures and sells rifles, shotguns, pistols and revolvers to independent wholesale distributors. The investment casting segment manufactures and sells titanium and ferrous investment castings to a wide variety of markets including sporting goods, commercial and military use. Sportsmen, hunters, law enforcement and other governmental organizations, and gun collectors use the products offered by the group. The group sells its firearms under the trademark ruger. Acusport corporation, davidson's supply company and jerry's sport center are the major customers of the group.
