The group also markets rich-brewed coffees, Italian-style espresso beverages, cold blended beverages, a variety of pastries and confections, coffee-related accessories and equipment, a selection of premium teas and a line of compact discs. These products are marketed through retail stores. It also markets coffee and tea products through other channels of distribution. The group produces and markets bottled frappuccino(R) and starbucks doubleshottm coffee drinks and a line of premium ice creams. At 29-Sep-2002, the group had 3,496 stores operating in the United States, Canadian provinces, the United Kingdom, Australia and Thailand. On 14-Jul-2003, it acquired seattle coffee company. North American retail accounted for 77% of fiscal 2002 revenues; business alliances, 7% and all other business units, 16%.
