The group's principal activities are to provide a range of services including water production and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, public works services, utility sub metering and customer billing services. The group operates in two segments: services group and utility group operations. The services group operates and manages water and wastewater treatment facilities owned by cities, public agencies, municipal utility districts and private entities. The utility group supplies water for residential, business, industrial and public authority use for fire protection services. The services group is subject to environmental standards, not regulated in its pricing, marketing or rates of return. The utility group is governed by the regulatory bodies of the respective states and by the federal government.
