The group's principal activity is to transport, store and distribute natural gas in the United States. The group operates in two reportable segments: transportation and storage segment, engaged in the interstate transportation and storage of natural gas in the midwest and southwest and also provides lng terminalling and regasification services. Its operations are conducted through panhandle energy and distribution segment, engaged in the local distribution of natural gas in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Its operations are conducted through the group's three regulated utility divisions: Missouri gas energy, pg energy and new England gas company. On 11-Jun-2003, the group acquired panhandle eastern pipe line company and its subsidiaries (referred to as panhandle energy).
