The group's principal activity is to produce specialty papers and supply fine papers to the tobacco industry. The activities of the group are broadly classified into two segments: tobacco products and non-tobacco products. The tobacco products segment includes cigarette, plug wrap and tipping papers used to wrap various parts of a cigarette, reconstituted tobacco leaf for use as filler in cigarettes, reconstituted tobacco wrappers and binders for cigars and paper products used in cigarette packaging. The non-tobacco products segment includes lightweight printing and writing papers, coated papers for packaging and labeling applications, business forms, furniture laminates, battery separator paper, drinking straw wrap, filter papers and other specialized papers. The group has operations in north and South America, western and eastern Europe and Asia. On 12-Feb-2004, the group, through its subsidiary, acquired p.t. Kimsari paper Indonesia.
