The group's principal activity is to provide security brokerage services through its wholly owned subsidiary paulson investment company, inc. The group is involved in the purchase and sale of investment securities. The services provided by the group include retail brokerage, corporate finance, investment banking, trading and market making. The subsidiary renders broker dealer services in securities on agency and on principal basis to its customers. As on 31-Dec-2003 the group had 30 branch offices throughout the United States.
