The group's principal activities are to purchase, gather, process, transport, store, and distribute natural gas. It operates through six segments. The marketing and trading segment: trades natural gas in the retail sector. The gathering and processing segment: gathers, processes, fractionates, stores and markets natural gas and natural gas liquids. The transportation and storage segment: engaged in intrastate natural gas transmission pipelines and natural gas storage. The distribution segment: provides natural gas distribution services. The production segment: produces natural gas and oil and owns natural gas and oil reserves. Other segment leases excess office space to others and operates a parking garage. The group acquired fort bliss gas distribution system in 2003. On 25-Feb 2004, the group acquired gulf coast fractionators.
