Its subsidiaries are west American insurance company, Ohio security insurance company, American fire and casualty company, avomark insurance company and Ohio casualty of New Jersey inc. The group operates in three units: commercial lines, specialty lines and personal lines. The commercial line unit includes commercial multi-peril insurance, commercial automobile insurance and general liability insurance. The specialty line unit includes commercial umbrella insurance for liability and defense costs, fidelity insurance and surety insurance. The personal line unit includes, primarily, personal automobile and homeowners' insurance sold to individuals.
