The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market metrology systems used in the manufacture of semiconductors, integrated circuits and flat panel displays. The group's metrology system measures various thin film properties, critical circuit dimensions and layer-to-layer circuit alignment and inspects for surface defects during various steps of the manufacturing process. Customers include applied materials, hynix semiconductor, samsung, powerchip, chimei, tricenti technology inc, au optronics, hannstar, semiconductor manufacturing international corp and wacker. The group operates in the United States, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Germany and other countries.
