The group's principal activities are to produce packaging systems, paper, consumer and office products and specialty chemicals. The group operates through four segments. The packaging segment produces bleached paperboard, coated natural kraft paperboard, linerboard and saturating kraft and packaging for consumer products including packaging for media, beverage and dairy, cosmetics, tobacco, pharmaceuticals and health care products. Paper segment manufactures and markets coated printing papers, carbonless copy papers and industrial specialty papers. Consumer and office products segment manufactures and markets school and office products, time management products and envelopes. Specialty chemicals segment manufactures and markets specialty chemicals derived from saw dust and from the by-products of the papermaking process. It operates in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia. In 2003, the group acquired amcal, inc. And assets of day runner, inc.
