The group's principal activities are to manufacture, market and distribute spices, herbs, seasonings and other flavors to the entire food industry. The group operates in two segments: consumer segment sells spices, herbs extracts, seasoning blends, sauces, marinades and specialty foods to the consumer food market under a variety of brands, including mccormick, zatarain's in the us, ducros in continental Europe, club house in Canada and schwartz in the UK. The industrial segment sells spices, blended seasonings, condiments, coatings and compound flavors to food processors, restaurant, distributors, warehouse clubs and institutional operations. In the third quarter of 2003, it disposed off its u.k. Brokerage business and its packaging segment. The group operates in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, Australia and China. On 09-Jan-2003, it acquired uniqsauces and on 04-Jun-2003, zatarain's brands, inc.
