The group's principal activity is to produce aggregates for the construction industry. The group operates in two segments: construction aggregates and magnesia specialties. Construction aggregates segment processes and sells granite, limestone, sand and gravel and other related products. These are used in all sectors of public infrastructure, commercial and residential construction industries. Magnesia specialties segment manufactures and markets dolomitic lime and magnesia-based heat-resistant refractories products. Dolomitic lime are used for steel industry and magnesia-based chemical products for industrial, agricultural and environmental use. In 2003, the group shipped approximately 192 million tons of aggregates primarily to customers in 31 states, in addition to Canada and the bahamas.
