The group's principal activity is to provide insurance and investment management services. The group operates in four business segments: lincoln retirement, life insurance, investment management and lincoln UK. The lincoln retirement segment provides tax-deferred investment growth and lifetime income opportunities for its clients through the manufacture and sale of fixed and variable annuities. The life insurance segment offers life insurance products including, universal life, variable universal life, interest-sensitive whole life, corporate owned life insurance and linked-benefit life throughout the United States. The investment management segment offers mutual funds, investment management and account administration services for variable annuity products, 401(k), "529" college savings plans, pension, endowment, trust and other institutional accounts. Lincoln UK's operations principally consists of unit-linked life and pension products.
