The group's principal activity is to produce and market tio2 - titanium dioxide pigments that are used for imparting whiteness, brightness and opacity to a range of products including paints, plastics, paper fibers and ceramics. The group produces over 40 different tio2 grades, which is sold under kronos trademark. Tio2 is produced in two forms : rutile and anatase. Rutile tio2 is used in plastics, coatings and inks. Anatase tio2 is used in paper, ceramics, rubber and man-made fibers. The group's manufacturing facilities are located in United States, Germany, Canada, Belgium, Norway and Europe. The group is also engaged in the mining and sale of ilmenite. The group is also engaged in the manufacture and sales of iron-based water treatment chemicals used as conditioning agents for industrial effluents and in the manufacture of iron pigments.
