The group's principal activities are petroleum refining and pipeline transportation. The refining segment refines crude oil and markets refined products on wholesale, such as gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel. The pipeline transportation segment includes approximately 500 miles of pipelines of which approximately 200 miles are also used as part of the supply and distribution network of one of the refineries. In 2003, the group acquired woods cross refinery from conocophillips and 45% interest in rio grande pipeline company from the williams companies. The group operates in the United States. In Mar 2003, the group sold its iatan crude oil gathering system located in west Texas to plains marketing l.p.
