The group's principal activities are to design, engineer and manufacture steel and aluminum wheels and components. The group operates in three segments: automotive wheels segment: includes a wide range of wheels, for passenger cars and light trucks. Components segment: includes wheel-end attachments, such as axle assemblies and automotive brake components, consisting primarily of composite metal drums, full cast drums and cast iron hubs for drum-type brakes and cast iron rotors for disc brakes. Other segment: includes commercial highway vehicle wheels, rims and brake products sold by the group to truck manufacturers and aftermarket distributors. The customers of the group are general motors, ford, daimler chrysler, bmw, volkswagen, nissan and honda. Automotive wheels accounted for 58% of 2002 revenues; cast components, 37% and commercial highway products, 5%.
