The group's principal activity is to generate, transmit, distribute and sell electricity. It provides integrated electricity services on a retail basis in the states of Missouri and Kansas. In addition, it also supplies electricity to retail end-users in the deregulated markets and acts as an energy manager to approximately 19,500 commercial and small manufacturing accounts in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, New York, Massachusetts and California. The group focuses on the development, production and trading of wholesale electric capacity and energy. It also owns over 250,000 net mineral acres of coal bed methane properties primarily in Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas. On 30-Jun-2003, the group completed the disposition of its subsidiary r.s. Andrews enterprises, inc (rsae).
