The group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture, market and distribute ophthalmic medical devices, pharmaceutical, vascular access products and digital cameras. The group operates through four segments: sonomed,vascular, medical/trek and digital. Sonomed develops, manufactures and markets ultrasound systems used for diagnostic or biometric applications in ophthalmology. Vascular develops, manufactures and markets vascular access products presently focusing on selling to cardiac catheterization laboratories. Medical/trek develops, manufactures and distributes ophthalmic surgical products. Vitreoretinal ophthalmic surgeons primarily utilize these products. Digital markets its high-end digital camera system for ophthalmologists known as the cfa digital imaging system. The camera back is being marketed to medical institutions, educational institutions and ophthalmologists for the purpose of diagnosis of retinal disorders.
