The group's principal activities are carried out through two segments consumer electronics and sporting goods. Consumer electronics designs, sources, imports, markets and licenses a variety of video products, including televisions, digital video disc, video cassette recorders and set top boxes, microwave ovens, audio, home theater systems and multi-media, house ware products, various accessories and specialty products. Sporting goods manufactures and markets sports related equipment and leisure products. The group markets domestically and internationally . The group has international operations in South America, Canada, and Mexico. The group's trade names include Emerson(R) and HH Scott(R). During 2003 the group discontinued and disposed of Athletic Training Equipment Company, Inc.
