The group's principal activity is to design, develop, support, manufacture and market highly integrated digital system processor chips. The product line includes DVD chips, video CD chips, communication chips and PC audio chips. Dvd chips can be used to play DVD, CD and other audio and video formats through the home entertainment system. Video CD products consist of both the standard vcd chips and the enhanced version known as svcd chips. Communication products enable PC manufacturers to provide fax, modem, network capabilities to add-on cards and directly to the motherboards of desktops. Pc audio chips enable PC manufacturers to provide audio capabilities on add-in sound cards and directly to the motherboards of desktop and notebook computers. The group sells its products to distributors and original equipment manufacturers. On 09-Jun-2003, it acquired pictos technologies inc and on 18-Aug-2003, it acquired divio inc.
