The group's principal activity is to design, manufacture and market industrial and consumer products. The group operates in two business segments: process/environmental controls and tools and components. The process/environmental controls produces environmental products, compact professional electronic test tools and motion, position, speed, temperature, pressure, level flow and safety devices. Tools and component segment produces and distributes general-purpose mechanics hand tools and automotive specialty tools, tool boxes and storage devices, diesel engine retarders, wheel service equipment, drill chucks and hardware and components for the power generation and transmission industries. During 2003, the group acquired accu-sort systems, inc and willett international limited.
