The group's principal activities are to design, develop, market and service high performance computer systems, commonly known as supercomputers. It presently markets four computer models: the cray sv1ex system, the cray t3e system, cluster systems and the nec sx-6 system. The group provides maintenance services to the installed base of cray computers. It is also developing enhancements to the cray sv1 and three new computer systems, the mta-2, the sv2 and t3e computers. Cray sv1 is based on group's multithreaded architecture system, the supercluster, a highly parallel system using leading commercial off the shelf components. The sv2 computer system will combine elements of the sv1. The registered trademarks are cray, cray-1, unicos and unicos/mk. In Oct 2003 the group announced to develop a product line based on the red storm system. On 02-Apr-2004, the group acquired octigabay systems corporation.
