The group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture and market tire and rubber products for the transportation industry. The group operates in two segments, the tire segment and the automotive segment. The tire segment produces automobile, truck and motorcycle tires and inner tubes. These products are sold to independent dealers, wholesale and retail distributors. The automotive segment produces sealing systems, hose assemblies, active and passive vibration control systems and exterior trim products. These products are sold to automotive original equipment manufacturers. The trademarks of the group include cooper, cooper-standard, mastercraft, avon and others. The group has international operations in the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, France, Poland and Germany. On 10-Mar-2003, the group acquired max-track tire co, inc.
