Business Information
The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market lasers, laser-based systems, precision optics and related accessories for a diverse group of customers. It has two reportable business segments: electro-optics and lambda physik. The electro-optics segment focuses on markets such as semiconductor and related manufacturing, materials processing, OEM laser components, scientific research, biotechnology, medical OEM's, advanced packaging and graphic arts. Lambda physik focuses on markets including lasers for the production of flat panel displays, lithography, gps systems, mobile phones, ink jet printers, automotive, environmental research, refractive surgery, scientific research, medical OEM's, materials processing and micro-machining applications. The group acquired molectron detector inc & positive light inc in fiscal 2003.
