The group's principal activities are integrated petroleum and chemical operations and coal mining. It operates through four segments: refining, marketing and transportation, exploration and production, chemicals and other. The refining, marketing and transportation segment deals in petroleum products such as gasoline, jet fuel, gas oils, kerosene, residual fuel oils and refined products. The exploration and production segment produces crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and other minerals. The chemical segment manufactures and distributes petro-chemicals, plastic resins, lube oil and fuel additives. The other segment includes cash management and debt financing activities, coal mining operations, power and gasification operations, insurance operations and real estate activities. The group operates in the United States and in over 180 countries.
