The group's principal activity is to provide banking and financial services in the New York state. The group operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, chemung canal trust company, a community bank and cfs group inc, a financial services company. It accepts time, demand and savings deposits including now, super now accounts, regular savings account, insured money market accounts, investment certificates, fixed-rate certificates of deposit and club accounts. The group originates secured and unsecured commercial and consumer loans, residential and home equity mortgage loans, revolving credits loans with overdraft checking protection, small business loans and student loans. Non banking services include safe deposit facilities, selling uninsured annuity and mutual fund investment products and the use of networked automated teller facilities. The operations are carried out through 13 branches located in chemung, schuyler, steuben and tioga country
