The group's principal activities are to provide diversified international energy services. The operations of the group are conducted through its subsidiaries. The group has five reportable segments: electric transmission & distribution, electric generation, natural gas distribution, pipelines and gathering and other operations. The electric transmission segment provides services to approximately 1.8 million customers in a 5,000-square-mile area of the Texas gulf coast. The electric generation segment includes 60 generating units at 11 power generation facilities. The natural gas distribution consists of intrastate natural gas sales to and natural gas transportation and distribution for residential, commercial and industrial customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. The pipelines and gathering business segment operates two interstate natural gas pipelines as well as gas gathering facilities and also provides pipeline services.
