The principal activities of the group are the production and distribution of basic chemicals, acetate products, technical polymers, oriented polypropylene films and food ingredients. The group has worldwide subsidiaries. Acetylene based chemicals accounted for 43% of 2002 revenues; industrial chemicals, 19%; technical plastics, 18%; acetate products, 15%; performance products, 4% and other, 1%.
