The group's principal activities are to manufacture carbon black, fumed metal oxides, tantalum and related products and cesium formate drilling fluids. It operates through three segments: chemical business, supermetals business and specialty fluids business. The chemical business produces carbon black, fumed, metal oxides and ink jet colorants. These products are used in tires, industrial products and high performance applications. The supermetals business produces tantalum, niobium and their alloys. These materials are used in electronic materials and refractory metals industries. The specialty fluids business produces and markets cesium formate as a drilling and completion fluid used in oil and gas well operations. The group operates in North America, Europe, South America and Asia-Pacific.
