The group's customer includes institutions, corporate, public, and Taft-Hartley pension plans, insurance companies, mutual funds, endowments, foundations, nuclear decommissioning trusts, corporations, banks, and individuals worldwide. In addition, the group provides risk management, investment system outsourcing and financial advisory services to a growing number of institutional investors. As of September 30, 2005, BlackRock assets under management total $428 billion across various assets. On 31/01/2005, BlackRock acquired SSRM Holdings Inc., the holding company of State Street Research and Management and State Street Realty.
