The group's principal activities are the provision of local, long distance and international telecommunication services, broadband, Internet products and services, and it solutions. The group is comprised of three lines of business namely bt retail, bt wholesale and bt global services. Bt retail supplies a range of communication products and services and offers a range of managed and packaged communication solutions. Bt wholesale provides network services and solutions. Bt global services provides global reach and a range of ict solutions and services. The group also held stakes in satellite entities, lg telecom, starhub and albacom. During fiscal 2003, the former concert business, customer accounts and networks were returned to its two parent companies with the group and at&t each taking ownership of substantially those parts contributed by them. During the year the group acquired UK trade and nsb retail plc.
