The group's principal activity is to provide automobile finance services. The group purchases auto finance contracts from franchises and makes loans to independent automobile dealers and to a lesser extent, to consumers buying used and new vehicles. The group services its automobile lending portfolio at regional centers using automated loan servicing and collection systems. The services include collecting and processing customer payments, responding to customer inquiries, maintaining the security interest in the financed vehicle, monitoring physical damage insurance coverage of the financed vehicle and arranging for the repossession. As at 30-Jun-2004, the group operated 89 auto lending branch offices.
