The group's principal activities are to design, develop, manufacture and market high temperature superconductor (hts) wires and power electronic converters. The group operates through three segments namely: amsc , supermachines and power electronic systems. The amsc wire segment develops and markets hts wires. The supermachines division develops and markets electric motors and generators based on hts wires. The power electronic systems division designs, develops and markets power electronic converters and integrated systems. The product offerings are sold to electrical equipment manufacturers, industrial power users, builders of ships that utilize electric drives and businesses that produce and deliver electric power. The group has operations in the United States and Germany.
