The group's principal activity is to provide gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery services to seventeen medical centers in fifteen states. The group provides gamma knife equipment as well as planning, installation, reimbursements and marketing support services to major urban medical centers. Gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery, a non-invasive procedure, is an alternative to conventional brain surgery or can be an adjunct to conventional brain surgery. The gamma knife treats selected benign brain tumors, malignant tumors, arteriovenous malformations and trigeminal neuralgia. The group is conducting research for treatment of Parkinson's disease, epilepsy and other functional disorders.
