The group's principal activity is to write medical professional liability and workers' compensation insurance. The activities are carried out through five segments: medical professional liability, workers' compensation, health, personal and commercial and corporate and other. The medical professional liability segment underwrites policy coverage for physicians and physician medical groups, clinics and other providers in the health care industry. The workers' compensation segment provides coverage to smaller accounts, having less than $75,000 in annual premiums and mid-level accounts, having $75,000 to $750,000 in annual premiums. The health insurance segment writes employee health insurance through a single preferred provider organization. The group also provides limited amount of personal and commercial coverage.
