The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and supply aerospace and defense products to the United States government and prime contractors. The group operates through three segments: aerospace, precision systems, and ammunition. The aerospace segment designs and develops solid propulsion systems for space launch vehicles, military, commercial aircraft, satellites, spacecraft and also provides technical support services for space launches. The precision systems segment supplies gun-launched precision-guided munitions, propulsion for missile defense systems, tactical missile systems, tactical rocket motors, warheads, composite structures for aircraft, soldier and air weapons systems. The ammunition segment supplies small-caliber military ammunition, rocket propellants, commercial and military smokeless powder, law enforcement and sporting ammunition. The group acquired micro craft, gasl & mission research corporation in fiscal 2004.
