The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market fiber optic components for communication equipment manufacturers. The products include devices that are used to connect optical fibers and components. These products are used to divide and combine optical power and dense wavelength division multiplexing or dwdm, devices that separate and combine multiple specific wavelengths. Fiber optic components are used within optical networks to create, combine, isolate, amplify, split, direct and perform various other functions on the optical signals. The group operates in the United States and Taiwan. It also has established a subsidiary in the peoples republic of China to manufacture its products there. On 16-Jan-2004, the group acquired ritek corporation's photonics business.
