The group's principal activities are to produce and distribute industrial, medical and specialty gases and welding, safety and related products. The group operates through two segments: distribution segment's principal products and services include packaged and small bulk gases, gas cylinder and welding equipment rental, process chemicals and hardgoods. Gas sales include industrial, medical and specialty gases such as: nitrogen, oxygen, argon, helium, acetylene, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, hydrogen, welding gases, ultra high purity grades and special application blends. The all other operations segment produces and distributes certain gas products, principally dry ice, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and specialty gases. During fiscal 2004, it acquired delta safety supply inc, littell industries inc and interstate welding sales corp. In fiscal 2005, the group acquired the assets of the U.S. Packaged gas business of the boc group, inc and welding supply house inc.
