Yang received her Ph.D. Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the Iowa State University of Science and Technology in 2004. Her research has been focused on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, which includes designing non-toxic catalysts, exploring their applications, and investigating the reactivity, selectivity and kinetics of those systems. One of her Ph.D. projects was featured on the cover of the prestigious Inorganic Chemistry journal in 2005. After finishing her Ph.D. study, she joined Victor Lin’s group as a postdoctoral research associate, and her research has been dedicated to developing new heterogeneous catalysts for industrial applications, such as biodiesel production which are significant in both energy and environmental protection. |
