Dr. Xiantao Yan is the Founder and CTO of LedEngin, Inc. Dr. Yan began his career as a rocket engineer in China. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has been working in thermal design, mechanics of materials, and optics for electronics and photonics packaging solutions for more than 20 years. Dr. Yan worked for Hughes Electronics/Delco Electronics in packaging solutions of flip chip, MEMS, and engine control module applications. He received Lead Award for the Leadership in Execution and Outstanding Performance Award from Delco. After working briefly in athermal packaging technology for arrayed waveguides applications, he joined TelASIC and worked on high power Analog-to-Digital Converter and Digital-to-Analog Converter and system packaging solutions.
Dr. Yan started as an entrepreneur at early stage in his career. Before college, he designed a Y-? motor starter for 200KW motor applications and founded a company with a successful product. This project received Award from Linyi County, Shanxi, China. He also designed a fast charger for high capacity battery, based on which he published his first professional paper in an electronics journal. Dr. Yan has published more than 30 papers, holds 6 patents, and has a number of additional patents pending. |
