Deutsche Postbank AG Wulf von Schimmelmann, a member of Accenture's board of directors since October 2001, is CEO of Deutsche Postbank AG, Germany’s largest independent retail bank and among the largest commercial banks in the German market. He is also a member of the board of directors of Deutsche Post World Net Group.
Prior to joining Deutsche Postbank AG in 1999, Wulf von Schimmelmann was a member of the Board of Managing Directors at BHF-Bank in Frankfurt am Main, responsible for investment banking, payment transactions and corporate customers. From 1984 to 1991, he was a management board member at DG Bank in Frankfurt am Main, responsible for marketing, payment transactions, international corporate customers, operations and controlling. From 1978 to 1984 he was a board member at Landesgirokasse-Bank in Stuttgart, responsible for retail banking, strategic planning and controlling.
Prior to joining Landesgirokasse-Bank, Wulf von Schimmelmann was a partner at McKinsey & Co., which he joined in 1972. During his six-year career with McKinsey he worked in Zurich, Cleveland (Ohio, USA), Kuwait and Dusseldorf.
Wulf von Schimmelmann received degrees in business administration and economic sciences from the Universities of Hamburg and Zurich and a doctorate in business administration and economic sciences from the University of Zurich.
