Dr. Woodrow W. Clark II
Woodrow W. Clark II, MA3, Ph.D. is a qualitative economist whose book, Agile Energy Systems: Global Lessons from the California Energy Crisis (co-author, Prof. Ted Bradshaw, University of California at Davis), was published from Elsevier Press, UK in October 04. His current book, Qualitative Economics: Toward a Science of Economics, with Prof. Michael Fast (Aalborg University, Denmark) is due out in 2006. Dr. Clark earned three separate Master of Arts degrees and his Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences Panel, "Hybrid Mass Transit Systems." Dr. Clark was Senior Policy Advisor for Energy Reliability to California Governor Gray Davis (2000-2003) with a focus on renewable generation, advanced technologies and finance.
Dr. Clark co-founded the California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative; helped to start the State Government initiative on "green" public buildings and sustainable historic buildings, and started the "Hydrogen Highway" (2003) for the State. "California's Next Economy," a white paper he published in 2003, stands as a benchmark for the State's economic growth. Dr. Clark was Manager of Strategic Planning for Energy at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory during the 1990s. He has an international reputation as a leader, author and implementer in renewable energy, emerging technologies and economic development.
Dr. Clark founded Clark Communications in San Francisco (1980) and is now Managing Director in Los Angeles, California. His clients are global in Asia (China) as well as Europe which include: (1) Los Angeles Community College District, as Director of Renewable Energy buildings on the nine campuses with a $2.3 billion bond measure; (2) Senior Fellow, Environmental Finance at the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, California; (3) Adjunct Professor, Graduate School of Business, Pepperdine University; (4) Chair of the Science and Technology Team for Green Hydrogen (with Jeremy Rifkin); and (5) Co-Founder, Chair of Advisory Board, Pianeta srl, a renewable energy company in Settimo, Italy, India and the People's Republic of China. |
