Willie is an admitted attorney, notary and conveyancer. He obtained the degrees B Juris LLB (1983) from the North West University. He started his career as an officer in the South African Defence Force where he gained extensive experience in administrative law, the drafting of legislation and the conducting and finalising of high level investigations. He joined the gold mining industry in 2002 as the group security manager of Harmony Gold Mining Company. He since then successfully established the Legal and Compliance Department overseeing the security, legal and enterprise-wide risk management functions of Harmony. Willie joined Great Basin Gold in March 2006 responsible for the Legal and Compliance functions and business services. |
