Tim Shaw brings KJT over twenty-seven years of technology leadership experience in the areas of process and substation automation and related computer systems. Combining technical, business, and management acumen, Mr. Shaw has been CEO, VP of engineering, systems engineer, project manager, and product development and marketing manager for companies that include EMC, Texas Instruments, Rexnord Automation, and most recently Qualitrol/Hathaway. Mr. Shaw has successfully introduced numerous products and technologies, has significant experience in international sales and negotiations, and most recently has been instrumental in the development of a new breed of vendor-independent substation automation devices that create an unprecedented level of information access.
Mr. Shaw has lectured extensively both in the U.S. and abroad on SCADA systems, substation automation, microcomputer-based distributed control systems, the Internet, communications and networking, cyber security, and operating systems. An active participant in the IEEE and other utility organizations, Mr. Shaw collaborated with the California ISO in the design, development, and deployment of the first X.509-compliant real-time monitoring and control system used to link statewide generating facilities. Mr. Shaw later deployed similar systems for the New England and New York ISOs.
Tim's education includes a BS degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Michigan and an MS degree in Engineering Science from Loyola College in Baltimore. |
