William Ruehl is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's New York office. He is a member of the Tax Department.
Prior to joining McDermott Will & Emery, William was a manager of state income tax examinations for United Technologies Corporation, where he managed all state income tax audits for a $43 billion company consisting of seven diverse, major business units. In addition, William has eight years of experience working for Big Four accounting firms in their state & local tax practices.
William has extensive background in state & local tax consulting and transactional analysis. He has experience in state income tax audits, refund claims, and appeals for numerous jurisdictions. He has worked with taxpayers in diverse industries, including manufacturing, retail/distribution, telecommunications, and financial services.
William is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.
