Mr. Pyle joined CANBERRA in 1990 and has worked in database engineering and support since that time. He is the principle designer of OpenCDM and supervised development and customization for all the CANBERRA database products at one time or another. Currently, Mr. Pyle holds a certification as an Oracle database administrator for Oracle 8, 8i, and 9i. He is also one of the designers of CANBERRA’s new Apex software product.
Prior to working for CANBERRA, Mr. Pyle was a chemistry supervisor for Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Company. During his six years at Wolf Creek, he was in charge of Chemistry computers and count room equipment and all chemistry calibrations. Before entering the nuclear industry, he worked for an EPA contractor supervising the production and quality control of water soluble organic hazardous materials standards. During this time, he also programmed robots for laboratory tasks.
Mr. Pyle also worked in the forensic sciences for four years in his home state of Kansas. As an evening job, he taught introductory college Chemistry during this time for Barton County Community College.
Mr. Pyle received a B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1976 from Emporia State University. He has taken a number of graduate classes in Nuclear Chemistry and Nuclear Engineering at Kansas State University while working at Wolf Creek. |
