Dr. William Jones is the CEO and a co-founder of IPWireless. With expertise in technology development and operations in the high-tech industry, he is responsible for the overall development and delivery of the company's next-generation high-speed network and products. Since 1984, Jones has worked in both research and product development roles on FDMA, TDMA, and CDMA wireless technologies. In 1988, he joined AT&T (which became Lucent Technologies) and took senior roles in the development of GSM, 3G, and fixed wireless technologies based on TDMA and CDMA. Jones' work at Lucent included managing Lucent's AirLoop product line from conception to deployment, managing Lucent's GSM Microcell product line , and the lead role in developing Lucent's European wireless standards strategy. From 1992 to 1995, he led a consortium of academic and industrial partners on a pre-competitive research project on the application of WCDMA for 3G. Jones has published many articles and holds patents on CDMA technology. Jones holds a first class honors degree in electrical and electronic engineering and a Ph.D. in radio frequency (RF) engineering from University of Bradford, England. |
